Mott The Hoople and Ian Hunter

Lyrics/chords to "Rest In Peace"

Rest In Peace

(Ian Hunter)

This tablature is based in the Just Another Night live version - transcribed by watching Ian's fingering on the DVD! James says "Looking at Ian's fingering and absence of a capo, I'm pretty sure his guitar is tuned to something other than the standard EADGBE, but this sounds pretty close. Put a capo on the 4th fret if you want to play in the same key as on the DVD."

G C G Gsus4 G
Oh if my wheel could take another turn
G C G Gsus4 G
and if my life replaced itself again,
B7 C
I wouldn't want a single thing to change.
G Gsus4 G D
Oh it's been good, though it's been strange.

G C G Gsus4 G
And if my dreams were willing to come true,
G C G Gsus4 G
oh I would not even try to let them through.
B7 C
I'm sure there's things I've missed, that others preached.
G Gsus4 G D
The goals they reached, they weren't for me.

A
Rest in peace,
E B E
even though the worries seem to mount,
      A B
don't let them count.
        A E
Rest in peace.

(2nd verse and chorus same as above)
