"Fabulous band - on a good night the best in the world,
and more influential than anyone at the time dared believe..." - Pete Frame (Rock Family Trees)

Warning: Mott The Hoople have NOT (yet!) reformed - any gig you see advertised is not the real thing
(probably an ex-member trading on the name when he shouldn't).

Headlines

Site Contents

Welcome to my website, dedicated to all things Ian Hunter and Mott The Hoople. I've tried to cover most things the casual and dedicated fan could ask for as detailed in the following list, so hopefully you'll find what you're looking for.

Archive

My archive of stuff that doesn't fit in well anywhere else, including an Ian Hunter interview, Mick Ralphs interview, and a tour programme from MTH's cancelled UK tour with Mick Ronson.

Books, etc

A listing of MTH/IH in print, including Ian's famous Diary, Campbell's MTH Biography, and the Outsider and Just A Buzz fanzines.

Discography

My comprehensive review of every major USA/UK releases, including bootlegs. The reviews are as I see them, and my honest opinion (and no, I don't praise everything in sight - some albums only get a 2 out of 5 review!)

Lyrics

Most MTH/IH songs have been transcribed, so you shouldn't have any difficulty singing along.

News

The latest news from the MTH/IH camp, including forthcoming releases and tour news.

Photo gallery

My gallery of high-quality live photos of Ian and MTH. No other site gives you more!

Ringtone

In the tablature section is a ringtone for Nokia phones. It is the intro to All The Young Dudes, and you'll need a phone with a 'Composer' function so you can type it in.

Tablature

A fews songs have been transcribed for guitar. I also have a ringtone for mobile phones that have a 'composer' function.

WWW Links

I try to maintain a comprehensive set of links to other Mott The Hoople/Ian Hunter websites. There's also a link to a free MTH/IH discussion forum.

Chat, discuss...

If you'd like to meet fellow fans to discuss anything Hunter/Mott, then there is a free discussion forum available. Details are on my WWW Links page.

Fan club

Sounds very "Smash Hits"ey, doesn't it, but there is also the recently-established Mott The Hoople Appreciation Society. Details on how to join are on my MTHAS page.

Acknowledgements

I would like to thank Rory Musil, Kevin Medcalf and others whose names I've forgotten who helped me out in the early days (before I bought a scanner) by scanning a few images in for me. I would like to thank the numerous contributors to the lyrics project, who either transcribed lyrics to suggested corrections.

I would like to thank Sven Gusevik and Justin Purington for their hard work in putting together the Outsider and Just a Buzz fanzines (which I have plagiarised shamelessly), and without which my knowledge would be somewhat poorer.

And, of course, I would like to thank Ian, Buffin, Overend, Morgan, Ronno, Bender, Blue, Ralpher, Phally, Mick Bolton and Guy, without whom...

Blowing my own trumpet I know, but I have put a few words together about myself, and this site, together with my philosophy behind trying to make this site accessible to all.
